Hello Mythos Dragons,
I'm sending out this month end update a bit early because I've got a big reward to distributed and I don't want to wait. There's a chance that we may have one more update this month, but just in case we don't get our next update until September, I wanted to combine our reward notice with our monthly summary. So, let's get to it.
Reward Distribution: SCION: DRAGON Advance PDF
You have been chosen by a Dragon, gifted with magic and the incredible ability to shape shift into one of their terrible and awesome forms. In a World of myth, yours has been rewritten time and again, and yet Dragons remember all truths. You are an agent in an ancient war, working behind the lines and preparing for a battle for the fate of The World.

Scion: Dragon details the stories of Heirs, those chosen by Dragons to act within The World as their agents. It is the story of discovering history, subverting enemies, and espionage. Your Draconic patron seeks to embroil you in millennia old plots and ancient grudges as shadowy manipulators. All the while, you must learn their secrets, and either embrace the Dragon’s goals for you or make your own.
The Scion: Dragon is a standalone game in the World of Scion, and is meant for use with Scion: Origin. Inside, you will find:
Character creation system for Heirs; those chosen by Dragons to enact their plots in The World.
Knacks, Spells, and all the draconic magic wielded by Heirs, powered by the Storypath System.
Six Flights: Draq, Joka, Lindwurm, Long, Naga, and Serpent Dragons, all suitable for patronage of your Heirs.
Information about The World from the Dragon’s perspective, complete with plots and hooks to get your characters deep into draconic intrigue.

This is the first version of Scion: Dragon to be released. The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Scion: DragonFeedback Form!
They are aware of the Page XX notations - those are left in to replace for the final version once any changes you've suggested are made, so they can reference the correct page if any shifts in layout result.
Onxy Path will keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks. Please submit your feedback as soon as possible so the team can get on to finalizing this file - and working on our print version as well!
They won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form.
After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), they will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.
You've already made the book a reality with your Kickstarter support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.

Scion: Dragon is now in the errata phase, as noted above. Please submit your feedback within the next two weeks, so the team can correct errata, update any page references and begin indexing and set up for print prep. Our two Dragon Stretch Goal PDF supplements are in editing.
Masks of the Mythos (with the incorporated Whispers from Darkness additional content) is in the final stages of proofing. It's going to be following along quite soon. I'm not certain whether it'll be out before the end of the month or around the beginning of September, but you'll get another update from me the moment it's ready to go out!

July '22: Monthly update (Proofing Finishing up on Dragon, Layout finishing up on Masks)

Hello Mythos Dragons,
It'll be a quick update for this month, just touching base to make sure we're all on the same page. Lots of things *this close* right now, but not quite over the finish line.

Scion: Dragon is finishing up the second round of proofing, Masks of the Mythos is finishing up in layout - I think the only bit they're waiting for before proofing are the symbols/artwork for new pantheons added when the "Whispers from Darkness" companion material was folded into the main book. The Dragon supplements are in editing. So, like I noted, lots of stuff *close* but not quite ready yet. I'm hopeful we'll have something more to share in the next monthly update! Fingers crossed!

June '22: OPP Con Scion and Storypath Panels + Mythos Expansion, Monthly Update

Hello Mythos Dragons,
Trying a little something with the update titles - a little less utilitarian, a little more about the contents of our monthly update. I don't have any rewards coming out to you yet, but I do have some info about Masks of the Mythos that came out of the recent Onyx Path Virtual Gaming Convention that I posted about last month.
In fact, I've got two of the panels that I highlighted in our previous update. Let me share them with you:
Onyx Path Con 2022: SCION PANEL
Neall Raemonn Price, Hiromi Cota, Geoffrey M., and David Castro talk about current and upcoming Scion Second Edition projects. The most relevant piece of news for this project: Thanks to a pandemic-related cascade of issues, Onyx Path's printer has recently restructured the schedule for printing books. To combat a host of production and scheduling issues, the printer now has a much tighter window with Onyx Path, and the Masks of the Mythos team found themselves in a very rare situation - while still targeting the projected release date from the Kickstarter campaign, the print files for Masks of the Mythos are not due to the printer quite yet, and the book is just finishing up layout. At the same time, the Mythos Companion book, Whispers in Darkness, has come together surprisingly quickly.
In what Rich has called a "Blue Moon Occurrence" because it's so rare, the decision has been made to simply incorporate the Companion supplement INTO the Masks of the Mythos core book while layout is underway.
SO: There won't be a separate Masks of the Mythos Companion supplement - instead, the Masks of the Mythos book will be expanded to include this additional content, and is already being incorporated into the layout. Exciting News!
Onyx Path Con 2022: STORYPATH PANEL
Pulling back from a Scion Second Edition focus, this panel features Danielle Lauzon, Lauren Roy, Monica Spec, and Michele Masala talking about the engine that was created for Scion Second Edition and has gone on to power several of Onyx Path's games. If you're interested in some of the more crunchy parts of the game, this is a great discussion worth checking out!

This rewards chart still lists Whispers from Darkness as it's own project, but I'll be removing that and we'll all just know that it's now part of an expanded Masks of the Mythos book for next month. The Scion: Dragon jumpstart and companion have also come together very quickly, but not quite in time to add those into the Scion: Dragon book, which is now proofing with the creative team. Oooh, I hope that means we'll be getting a backer PDF before too much longer! That depends on how many rounds of proofing are needed and how significant any changes are, but I'm hopeful we'll see something soon!

So our Scion: Dragon and Scion: Masks of the Mythos books have entered preliminary layout stages! In addition, the Dragon jumpstart and companion manuscripts have caught up to the Mythos companion and all three are now in editing!

Check out the Scion Second Edition game running on Friday June 10 at 9:30 PM... and I'm not sure what the Scion: Godsend item is on the schedule for Sunday at 3:00 PM, but you can be sure it's got my interest!
There are also come great panels to check out, all of which will be hosted on the Onyx Path Twitch channel.
Aside from the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Scion panel at 8:30 on Friday (just before the game streams!), the Storypath Q&A and What's Up with Onyx Path panels on Saturday should be good viewing!

Artwork is still coming in for our books as the team finishes locking down those pieces before beginning layout. The Scion: Dragon jumpstart is now in approvals. Bits and pieces of progress, and everything is continuing to move forward.
